Macross. It doesn’t require an introduction. From the airing of its first series in 1982, the Macross franchise has seen very few roadblocks – if the countless sequels, prequels, and spin-offs haven’t already made that obvious. Despite the near infinite franchises in the world of anime that have seen their popularity crash and burn, Macross is one of the few that has managed to stay relevant in the current animanga landscape, and every new entry to the franchise only seems to garner more new fans than the last.
